We believe God has called Meadowbrook Church to join him in the work of building his kingdom in the lives of people, neighborhoods, and communities in the greater Western Milwaukee area.
Our Purpose Statement
Meadowbrook Church exists to honor God through our worship and our living as we participate in Jesus Christ’s mission. That mission is to bring people to God by Telling them what he has done for them, Teaching them to become his disciples, and helping them to experience the Transforming of their lives in loving Christian Community.
Our Passions
At Meadowbrook six heart felt values shape and influence all we do in the church:- The Presence of God
- The Word of God
- The Mission of the Church
- The Priority of Persons
- The Recognition of Process
- The Encouragement to Participation
1. The Presence of God
At Meadowbrook we value that in all places we would individually and corporately "practice the presence of God." Therefore, our worship is a celebration of God with us, and our ministry is a dependence upon God working through us.
2. The Word of God
At Meadowbrook the sole source for truth and right living is found in the inspired Word of God, the Bible. We use it for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness (II Timothy 3:16).
3. The Mission of the Church
The mission of Meadowbrook Church is found in the Great Commandment of Jesus (Matthew 22:37-39) and his Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Jesus called his church first to love God and others, and second, to make disciples of all peoples.
4. The Priority of Persons
God loves all people of every nationality, race, age, and gender (John 3:16). We believe that true growth, direction in life, personal wholeness and fulfillment, comes when we enter into and then live our lives in relationship with God and his church as a growing disciple of Jesus Christ. At Meadowbrook our emphasis is on the care and the growth of the whole person and not simply in developing programs and events.
5. The Recognition of Process
As human beings physical life changes from infant to child to adolescent to adult, so we recognize that spiritual life and growth is also a process of changing. Changing, for the Christian, is the process of being transformed by the work of God’s Spirit upon our lives into greater Christ-likeness! Recognizing process allows each of us to be at a different place saying to one another "It's okay to be right where you are, let me help you take the next step."
According to Ephesians 4:12b-13 the aim and direction of process is always toward individual and body life maturity.
"...so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."
6. The Encouragement to Participation
Participation in the church is essential to spiritual growth. We believe the structures within the church must encourage, support, and simplify the process of growth for everyone by encouraging meaningful connection and participation. The structures and ministries of the church work together for the building of the kingdom of God, the maturing of the church community, and the personal growth of individuals.
The key structures at Meadowbrook Church that support, encourage, and simplify participation toward growth are: Celebration (our 8:00a.m., 9:30a.m. and 11:00a.m. worship services), Communities (our Sunday morning fellowship and teaching groups for adults), and Cells (our small groups during the week).
