- Building Renovations: Based on a presentation from the Building and Grounds Committee and additional discussion, Council approved renovations to scale down the library to a smaller reference library, to move the children’s library to the hallway opposite the elevator, and to move the prayer room to 203. Some other minor renovation ideas were discussed, and alternate bids for the cost of those items will be sought.
- Discussion of Staff Report on Space Needs: Council reviewed the church staff’s 2007 Update of the 2005 Facilities Committee Report , which presented the conclusion that we cannot maintain our existing programming in this building without change, perhaps to the programming or to the building. To ensure continued growth in the number of adults in the sanctuary, the church needs additional classroom space. Various options were discussed, and then a time of prayer was held for this issue.
- New Members: Council was delighted to approve the following people for membership: David and Maribel Adam, Tony and Becky Breitrick, Kerri Dickerson, Matt and Leah Good, Steve and Becky Hornak, Steve Hutchison, Greg and Tina Katorski, Stephen and Rebecca Sup, and Jacob and Hallie Winter.
- Garage (No) Sale: The donation of several items of church property to the Garage (No) Sale was approved.
- Roof Replacement / Chimney Restoration and Lining:
Chimney and roof repairs and roof replacement were approved, using the Building Repair Fund to cover the expense.
