In addition to the worship services on Sunday morning we offer a unique way to help you to get to know others at church. We call that way "Communities". While your children are in Nursery or Christian Education classes, adults participate in Community rooms around the building. Communities help you in connecting with other people from Meadowbrook on a personal level, making new friendships and having a place to discuss and apply God’s Word. Each community feels informal and friendly, coffee and other refreshments are served.
The aim of the Communities is to help people grow as disciples of Jesus Christ by welcoming them to a middle-sized group (25 to 50) and facilitating relationships. In Communities, a sense of belonging and knowing replaces the feeling of being isolated and alone. Interesting, practical topics are taught and discussed with an orientation toward seeing the Bible have an impact on our everyday lives.
Other descriptive phrases for Communities:
- Communities are the “welcome wagon” in helping people to connect with other members of the church.
- Communities are the primary place we want to see Christ-centered social relationships begin, develop, and grow.
- Communities are caring agents in times of need and crisis for individuals and families.
- Communities mobilize the church in outreach and service to the city and suburbs where we live.
Note: Communities do not meet during the summer months (Memorial Day to Labor Day).
